Maintain well-structured electronic matter files, applying consistent folder structures and naming conventions.
Sort, index and label pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery materials, exhibits and other case documents.
Scan, convert, combine and format documents (including PDFs) so they are complete and ready for use or filing.
Check documents carefully for accuracy, completeness, correct versions, page order and formatting before they are filed or circulated.
Assist with preparing documents for court filing and service, ensuring they meet formatting and submission requirements.
Track incoming documents and keep matter records and document logs up to date.
Help organise discovery productions, exhibit lists and document bundles for attorneys and paralegals.
Identify and resolve gaps, duplicates or inconsistencies in matter files.
Follow instructions precisely and communicate clearly with the legal team on progress and any issues.
Handle confidential client and case information with discretion and in line with data security practices.
Qualifications:
An undergraduate or graduate degree in Law, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies or a related field, or an equivalent legal or paralegal qualification.
Exceptional attention to detail and a highly organised, systematic approach to work (essential).
Availability to work part-time during San Diego business hours (US Pacific Time) (essential).
Experience in a legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal or document management role is highly desirable.
Exposure to US civil litigation, ideally in California, is preferred.

Experience with court e-filing systems is advantageous.
Strong digital skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and cloud-based file storage.
Familiarity with legal document or case management software is advantageous.
Excellent written English and clear communication skills.
Quick to learn new systems and processes, and able to follow detailed instructions accurately.
Ability to manage tasks and deadlines reliably, and to work independently in a remote working environment.
Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
Benefits:
