Senior Paralegal (Canadian Law)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal with a strong background in Canadian corporate and commercial law.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting lawyers with corporate transactions, business formations, commercial contracts, mortgage matters, and civil law matters. A thorough understanding of Canadian legal procedures, corporate regulations, and case law is essential.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and draft corporate legal documents, including incorporations, business registrations, shareholder resolutions, and annual corporate filings.
Assist with the formation, organization, and maintenance of corporations and other business entities.
Draft, review, and amend commercial contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence.
Support lawyers with mortgage transactions, financing documentation, and related legal matters.
Assist with corporate reorganizations, business acquisitions, and commercial transactions.
Conduct legal research relating to Canadian corporate, commercial, civil, and contract law.
Maintain corporate records, minute books, and legal documentation.
Prepare court forms, legal documents, and supporting materials for civil matters where required.
Liaise with clients, government agencies, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
Manage multiple legal files while ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
Maintain confidentiality and provide high-quality legal and administrative support.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Corporate or Commercial Paralegal.
Extensive experience working within the Canadian legal system is required.
Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate law, commercial law, contract law, civil law, and mortgage transactions.
Experience preparing corporate records, incorporations, annual filings, and business registrations.
Thorough understanding of Canadian case law and legal research methodologies.
Excellent legal drafting, document preparation, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience using Canadian legal practice management software and document management systems is preferred.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
