Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Wills & Estates Lawyer with a strong background in Australian Wills & Estates law. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience advising clients on estate planning, estate administration, probate, succession planning, and trust matters. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and providing practical legal advice on commercial law matters.
Experience working with Australian law firms or advising clients within the Australian legal framework is essential.
Responsibilities:
Advise clients on Wills, estate planning, succession planning, trusts, and estate administration matters in accordance with Australian law.
Draft, review, and amend Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Trust Deeds, and other estate planning documents.
Manage probate and estate administration matters from commencement through finalization.
Advise executors, beneficiaries, trustees, and clients on estate distribution and succession matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, service agreements, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research and provide advice on Australian Wills & Estates and Commercial Law matters.
Liaise with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other stakeholders.
Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with Australian legal and regulatory requirements.
Manage multiple legal matters while meeting deadlines in a remote environment.
Deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice and exceptional client service.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Law and admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner (or eligibility to work on Australian legal matters) is preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience practicing Australian Wills & Estates Law.
Demonstrated experience drafting Wills, Trust Deeds, Powers of Attorney, Probate Applications, and estate planning documentation.
Strong experience managing probate, deceased estates, estate administration, and succession planning matters.
Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements.
Thorough understanding of Australian Wills & Estates legislation, probate procedures, and succession law.
Previous experience working with an Australian law firm or supporting Australian legal matters is highly preferred.
Excellent legal drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience using legal practice management software is advantageous.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
