Property Lawyer (Australia)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Property Lawyer with a strong background in Australian property and conveyancing matters to join our client’s growing team in Cranbourne, VIC. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience handling residential and commercial property transactions, reviewing contracts, and advising clients on a wide range of property law matters within the Victorian jurisdiction.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong client management skills, and the ability to independently manage files from inception through to settlement.
Responsibilities:
Manage residential and commercial conveyancing matters from contract review through to settlement.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts of sale, vendor statements, leases, and other property-related legal documents.
Provide legal advice on property transactions, subdivisions, transfers, off-the-plan purchases, and related matters.
Liaise with clients, banks, brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transactions.
Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with Victorian property laws and regulations.
Handle PEXA settlements and maintain accurate file management throughout all stages of transactions.
Identify legal risks and provide practical commercial solutions for clients.
Maintain high standards of client service and communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Laws (LLB/JD) and admission to practice in Australia is mandatory.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Australian property law and conveyancing matters.
Strong understanding of Victorian property law, conveyancing procedures, and land transactions.
Experience handling residential and commercial property files independently.
Familiarity with PEXA, LEAP, Smokeball, or similar legal practice management software.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within an onsite legal team environment.
