Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Insolvency Lawyer with extensive expertise in insolvency, restructuring, and debt recovery matters within the Australian jurisdiction. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical legal knowledge, excellent client management skills, and proven experience handling complex insolvency and commercial recovery matters.

Experience working with Australian law firms or supporting legal operations in a remote or outsourced environment will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities:

• Manage complex insolvency, restructuring, bankruptcy, and debt recovery matters from commencement through resolution.

• Provide strategic legal advice to clients regarding insolvency risks, recovery options, and commercial disputes.

• Draft and review legal documents including statutory demands, court applications, pleadings, settlement agreements, and correspondence.

• Represent and support clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.

• Conduct detailed legal research relating to insolvency legislation, case law, and regulatory requirements.

• Liaise with liquidators, administrators, creditors, debtors, and other stakeholders throughout insolvency proceedings.

• Support junior legal staff and contribute to matter management and workflow coordination.

• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legal and procedural deadlines.

• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Law and admission to legal practice is mandatory.

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience handling insolvency, restructuring, and debt recovery matters.

• Strong understanding of Australian insolvency and commercial law frameworks.

• Experience drafting complex legal documents and managing litigation processes.

• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple matters independently in a remote work environment.

• Experience using legal practice management and document management systems.
