Paralegal (Australia)
Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Generalist Paralegal to support legal teams across a broad range of practice areas, including commercial, property, and family law within the Australian jurisdiction. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is comfortable handling diverse legal matters.
The successful candidate will assist with drafting legal documents, managing case files, conducting legal research, and supporting lawyers in delivering high-quality legal services. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters independently are essential.
Responsibilities:
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and formatting a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, court forms, and correspondence.
Support lawyers in commercial transactions, property matters, and family law cases.
Conduct legal research on Australian legislation, case law, and regulatory requirements.
Manage and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
Assist with due diligence processes and document management for business transactions.
Prepare briefs, bundles, and supporting documentation for court proceedings or client matters.
Liaise with clients, courts, and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with legal procedures and timelines.
Provide general administrative and legal support across multiple practice areas.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
Prior experience as a paralegal, preferably within Australian commercial, property, or family law.
Strong understanding of legal processes and documentation within the Australian legal system.
Experience supporting commercial transactions, property matters, or family law cases is highly desirable.
Excellent drafting and document formatting skills.
Strong research, organizational, and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Familiarity with legal practice management systems and document management tools is a plus.
